McAuley Manor under went extensive renovation and new construction making it possible to accommodate 120 residents including those with special needs; ventilator dependency to dialysis, Alzheimer’s/Dementia, and short term rehabilitation.

Nursing Care

Nursing care is provided 24 hours a day by a qualified staff of Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants. As part of the interdisciplinary care team, nursing develops, directs and evaluates a system of comprehensive care that will assist residents to reach their optimal level of wellness.

Nursing actions are:

* Based on the admission nursing assessment
* Specific to individual needs
* Responsive to the changing status of the resident
* Planned together with the resident and/or significant other
* Coordinated with the interdisciplinary care team

The nursing staff recognizes that residents have the desire and potential to be productive, contributing members of society and that human potential is not limited by chronological age.


Rehabilitation Services

Physical, occupational and speech therapies are available to assist residents in achieving and maintain their highest level of functional independence. Restorative or maintenance programs are provided following a physician referral, with periodic assessments provided to monitor progress. All therapeutic services are provided by New York State licensed professionals.


Social Work Services

Social work is an integral part of the caregiving team and services are available to all McAuley Manor residents and their families. The Social Work Department is responsible for assessing and addressing residents’ psychosocial and environmental needs throughout their stay at McAuley Manor. A residents’ discharge potential is also evaluated throughout his/her stay and discharge planning is provided when appropriate. In addition, the Social Work Department responds to all inquiries regarding admission to the nursing facility and coordinates admissions to those accepted for placement.

Services provided to meet resident’s psychosocial needs include:

* Ongoing Psychosocial Assessment
* Resident Advocacy
* Assistance with Adjustment Process
* Emotional Support, Supportive Counseling (for both Residents and Families)
* Interdisciplinary Team Conferences/Family Conferences
* Information and Referral
* Discharge Planning
* Assistance in Development and Operation of both Residents Council & Family Council


Specialized Activities

A variety of organized programs are offered seven days a week by the full-time Activity Department. These programs provide meaningful activities which promote and enhance our residents’ highest level of physical, mental and psychosocial functioning.

A calendar of activities/programs is developed each month to provide social, physical, cognitive, spiritual and craft opportunities. A balance of structured and independent activities are provided.
