The Enriched Housing is supportive housing for the physically frail elderly, the disabled or for those individuals who want to live independently but with extra help. The program offers each resident:
• his or her own bedroom apartment
• three meals daily, seven days per week
• a homemaker to assist with personal care services
• laundry and shopping assistance
• recreational opportunities
• help with money management and bill paying
• help with arranging transportation and medical appointments
• in-home supportive services

Maple House was transferred from Ossining Open Door to FSW in 2000.

Who is eligible?
The program serves the physically frail elderly over age 65 and/or those individuals over age 55 who have been designated by the government as disabled. The individual or couple must be financially eligible for Section 8 housing, although they do not need to possess a Section 8 certificate. Applicant(s) can be functionally impaired, but cannot be bed-or wheelchair-bound. A medical certificate is required at the time of application stating that the applicants are physically and mentally able to be alone at least 80% of the time and do not require full time personal care or skilled nursing care. A special Enriched Housing program SSI supplement is available for those individuals whose incomes fall below the cost of the program’s service. Non-SSI level candidates may pay the reasonable fee privately.
