Family Type Homes are New York State certified private homes where adults receive 24 hour care in a warm, loving atmosphere at 1/3 of traditional institutions.

Family Type Homes have 1-4 residents who receive one on one quality care. It is a home away from home where residents are treated like members of the family.
How do I go about placement?
Placement is easy. There is no "red tape" that is usually associated with institutional placement.
Family Type Homes is an alternative living style to institutional housing!
Family Type Homes for adults offer a "Home Like" atmosphere for seniors who are mobile but require 24 hour care and supervision. They are privately owned and operated, New York State certified, and under the Department of Social Services.
In Family Type Homes, the operator lives with their residents and since there is a small number of residents the operator is able to provide one on one care. Special diets can usually be accommodated.
Family Type Homes are non-institutional so there is no "red tape" for admission and cost is much less than a nursing home. Some homes do accept SSI supplement payments while others only take private pay.
